Over the last day or two I’ve had lots and lots of hits to my site from an IP address owned by Microsoft. I can only assume that this is their Bing web crawler.
All these hits are showing up in my statistics. Obviously, I don’t want them to.
Anyone know how to stop these visits being tracked?
There isn’t a way unless you want to block msnbot all together. I am not sure why but I have always noticed that once msnbot indexes a page, it will also browse the page afterwards. I have no idea what the reasoning is behind it but that’s just how it’s done.
OK, I guess I will live with the skewed stats then.
