How to add an option to products

Would you someone tell me step by step how to add an option to a product?

I added the color option with inventory, but it seems not working.

[COLOR=“DarkOrchid”]Is the product page online yet so I can see ? If you added variables to your option with a name, and you see it listed on the “options” tab in admin, it should be working I would think…

Well, I see the options on the page, but when I check out an item with an option like a red bag the confirmation page does not work. The page I can see is the email content.



However, if I check out an item that has no options it works fine. So I doubt if I did wrong to add an option to an item.
