How do I install into my root directory?

I have tried everything but cannot get the cart to install into my root directory. I have all the install files in my www.mysite.com/shop



If I run the install and leave it set to install to the shop directory everything works fine but I don’t want to have to goto www.mysite.com/shop/index.php I want it to be www.mysite.com/index.php but no matter what I try it will not install there.



Any ideas? The folder is set to 755 just like the shop folder but still nothing.

What folder are you trying to put it into? The most common folder is /public_html/ for the root folder.

I finally got it installed in the root but everytime I initially goto the site I get the error message page not found but if I then hit refresh in my browser the store loads fine.



Any ideas???
