How do I add a field to the checkout pages?

I’m trying to add a HOW DID YOU HEAR ABOUT US drop down that users must select before being able to check out of their store. How would I go about doing that?

You can create a new profile field in Users->Profile fields. You could place it in the “Contact information” section and make it a required field for checkout.
