Hello all
I would like to add a section called “How did you hear about us?” to my checkout page, where there would be a list of options that my customers can select from (probably radiobox), so that I can monitor how they found out about my site.
Does anyone know how I can do this?
I would be interested in something like this as well.
The only way I can think to do this is to put the check list onto the registration form. Because I get a number of people that checkout as guests, this method is going to miss them.
Has anyone else figured out how to monitor where people find out about their site in a more precise way, i.e. through the checkout pages?
You could add a new field to the profile fields section of type Selectbox, have it only show in checkout pages in either Billing or Shipping section. That would be the easiest way.
Thanks Charlie, why didn’t I think of that?
I’ve tried to put the Selectbox into the Customer Information field rather than in the Billing/Shipping field so that it doesn’t come out in my customers addresses, but when you get to Checkout, it is duplicating where it says ‘Where did you hear about us?’.
I’ve attached a screenshot to see if anyone knows how I can fix this…
Sorry the picture is a bit too small to see. What does your admin profile fields look like?
I’ve attached a pic of my Profile Fields in Admin, but the picture is very small again, so I don’t know if you’ll be able to see it.
Not sure, i’ve just tried it on the cs demo site and it seems to be working ok.
I’ve checked the CS demo too and it all looks ok until you actually put details into the Contact Information section and proceed to the Billing Address section.
If you do that, what happens is exactly the same as is happening on my checkout page.
Ah right i see it now.
Has anyone managed to figure this out yet.
I really need to get it to work…
