I get item id codes that resemble this aaa-bbb-ccc where ccc represent a size (this is not found in all items) ,
my problem is ccc represents a ring size or chain lenth.
the aaa-bbb part is repeated in several items with the ccc part being different.
how is this handled by other site operators,
keep in mind we are talking about 1000,s of items

my problem is
Product code
BAR-050
BAR-050-07
BAR-050-08
BAR-050-09
BAR-050-10
BAR-050-16
BAR-050-18
represent the same item in different sizes ,
how do i represent this to the customer and get the correct item code ,
i could leave it like it is and show the item under several catagories to represent the size
but i can see that being a problem for the surfer ( want a size 7 but surfing and ordering size 9 )
