Hosting Recommendation?

Move on from shared if you can afford it. It will save you lots for headaches...

I moved from Martfox a while ago too, and tried getting in touch with them a few times but nothing. I still have a few domains registered through them that I need to shift.

I would recommend eukhost, they are quick and efficient, my site hasnt been down once since moving to them 18 months ago, I am now on dedicated with them.

OK so it looks like Martfox have definately gone! how do we get or domain names.

Anyone know the best way to get our domain names regester (which were locked) transferred from them to another host, is it best just through nominet

and explain the situation.

John

I would go to Nominet, they normally respond quickly so you'll then know where you stand.

No serious Storefront should be running on a shared server, period.

I have just moved to fastcomet. So far so good and pretty good speed.

I too moved to Fastcomet a few weeks ago. It's been great and the support is the best I have ever had from any hosting company.

We use futurehosting.
It's a good web hosting with great features and reasonable price. Also, the servers are located in different parts of the world.

Thanks. I moved to fastcomet and have been very happy since, so far anyways hehe

I know that many of our clients use Digital Ocean. Our ex-employer Gleb created an automatic script that configures the server for best CS-Cart performance, and we wrote a detailed instructions on how to do it: http://blog.cs-cart.com/2015/11/27/pay-5-for-hosting-on-digitalocean-and-get-92-google-pagespeed-points-for-your-cs-cart-store-out-of-the-box/

Have not ever heard of them. Thus neither I or anyone from CS team used it.

The performance on VPS is good, but they are null routing it on DDoS attack. (as all others)

A great tutorial, unfortunately there's actually an issue with SSL, it has not been fixed yet.

Maybe I should ask a question of the likes of Ecom-Labs.

"From an installation and maintenance point of view which host has given the least trouble ?"

I believe, shared hosting not much useful due to lots of updates regarding web page speed as Google had considered it as its core algorithm update that website with low page speed will be penalized, I have moved my ecommerce store to cloudways managed ecommerce hosting and everything is going good now.

BTW: we updated our Anlsible script for Virtual Private Server (VPS) and Virtual Dedicated Servers (VDS)
https://github.com/cscart/server-ansible-playbooks
This script allows you to set the CS-Cart environment in several clicks.

We use https://www.hetzner.com/for all our stores. Very nice hosting.

There are lot of recommendation here about hosting provider. But it's difficult to identify right hosting for your website. In my opinion about hosting always go with those provider who have 24/7 technical support because it's really painful when you are in trouble and didn't receive response.
