OK I went in & disabled the SEO (thank you Jesse & pbanette for the suggestion) & that has temporarily fixed the issue (pages can be accessed). I’ve got a ticket into support. I’ll post any help they may offer here in case anyone else comes across this in the future.

OK well I just got a respose from support saying my support expired & they want $45 a month which I can’t afford right now - so I am stuck!
I thought hotlink protection in cpanel actually writes rules to the htaccess file. In which case it may have overwritten or added conflicting rules to CS’s htaccess.
You might manually have to edit the file to get it to work with both.
At least as far as I can remember…
