HELP - 2.1.2 Upgrade abort - No SHOP - No Admin - Nothing

It looks like the problem with warning occured only on PHP 5.2.x
This is how mine stoped while upgrading

Hope this can help
This is actually a separate issue. We now have 3 different problems in this thread. What I have been discussing and posted in the bug tracker, relates to the original post. Just so nobody gets confused.

Edit: I had no issues with the upgrade process itself and I upgraded a site from 1.3.5 sp4 to 2.1.2. However, I will say that I could not upgrade on the clients server and instead upgraded on my server and had to transfer files back and forth due to the clients server not being updated/configured (didn’t have time to investigate). So what I am saying is servers can cause upgrade issues as well.

Dear aerofan, this problem is caused by your server configuration.

open_basedir directive should be corrected.
Same exact problem, completely wiped out my entire site.
Hi are you using the php handler DSO?

Try changing the core folder permissions to 777

Also permisions for var, skin and images must have 777 recursed through subs and even files!

All my permissions must be 755 / 644.

I restored the whole site from a full cpanel backup and just tried the update again, worked like a charm.

Thanks

The “stripos-update” is working fine.

  1. Change the fn.common.php line 3039 like imacs thread:

    http://forum.cs-cart.com/vbugs.php?do=view&vbug_id=2262

  2. Rename admin.php into admin_something_you_like.php.

Login into admin-panel via your admin_renamed.php.

There are some errors which you can ignore.

  3. Goto ADMIN → UPGRADE CENTER, click “Refresh packages list”

  4. Goto “installed upgrades” and scroll down to Upgrade 2.1.1 - 2.1.2

    Click revert.

  5. After all files and database are restored you have a well-working 2.1.1

  6. Logout of admin and login. Now you can update to 2.1.2.

I have done this and all works fine for the moment.

Thanks to The Tool an imac.

IMPORTANT - if you are renaming admin.php:

I’m having this error after upgrade “500 Internal Server Error” when I access the frontend and admin.

403 Access Denied on Admin area

Upgrade from 2.1 to 2.2 - I have the same problem. I’ve checked file permissions, cleared the cache and compiled folders but still get a 403 error message and no access to admin. Shop still closed! Any suggestions?

Check permissions like installing CS-Cart form new.

Do you have a php.ini in Root? Rename the file for trial.

Frank

It would make sense to extensively Beta test an upgrade via a voluntary beta test group before a general release. Causing problems where customers cannot access their admin panel and having stores to go down is just unacceptable for commercial software.

I didn’t do this as when i checked the file had already been updated by CS Cart.

I tried this but was not convinced that was the problem. It wasn’t - didn’t help.

I reverted back to 2.1 using the URL given during the upgrade process. Thanks for taking the time to reply but I’m still no further forward.

We had to reset the permissions for admin.php and index.php back to 644. That got us up and running

Always upgrade a test environment site first, one on the same server environment or as close to identical as you can get. NEVER jump right in and upgrade a live production site. That is asking for trouble regardless of how many beta tests were run on the software.
Didn’t work for me:

When logging into admin I get:

! Error

You are not allowed to login to this area.

403

Access denied

You don’t have permission to access the page.
I Got this from CS Support

Thank you for contacting us.

Unfortunately, there was a mistake in the latest upgrade package and it caused the problem you had. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Thank you for providing us with the access to your server. We have added the missing lines of the code to your admin panel script and “core/fn.common.php” file.

Sorry again.

admin page:

500 Internal Server Error

doh!

solution:

rename admin1234.php to admin.php

login to admin.php

"Goto ADMIN → UPGRADE CENTER, click “Refresh packages list”

Goto “installed upgrades” and scroll down to Upgrade 2.1.1 - 2.1.2

Click revert.

After all files and database are restored you have a well-working 2.1.1

you will need to amend all URLs to admin.php instead of the admin1234.php that keep popping up

I just tried to upgrade from 2.1.1 to 2.1.2.

All seemed to go well, then I got :

Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@gemnetwork.com.au and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Could not access the main site or backoffice. Gone.

FTP is OK. cPanel (web hosting) access was there.

But the site or admin was not loading in any way!

Luckily my HOST (VentraIP) were able to restore the entire site from a recent backup. The confirmed that it was a third party issue.

Personally I am now hesitant to upgrade!?
