Group Buy is collective buying, offers products and services at significantly reduced prices on the condition that a minimum number of buyers would make the purchase.
Is there a functionality or a plugin, that can make this work? Been reading the forum, haven't found any info.
Customers > User Groups > Add User Group
Add ‘Group Buy’ customers to the new user group = Group By Group.
Products > Promotions > Add Cart Promotion > Conditions: User Group = “Group Buy Group”
Now you can add Promotions, to give the Group Buy Group customers a discount on a specific list of products, an entire category, a % or £ order discount, etc.
That’s how I’ve done it in the past.
PS. Don’t you hate it when you type a word, then the more you type the same word, the more ridiculous that word appears to be? Maybe I doubt myself too much…but ‘group’ is such a ridiculous looking word after a while
Hmm, Thanks a lot,
I’ll check if “promotions” can handle “minimum number of buyers” condition.
Ah, I overlooked the minimum number of buyers requirement. Custom development is the only way to go for this.
This one would be tough. You would have to keep track of all the people that purchased and not enable any of them until the minimum number was achieved. Who would pay in advance for a purchase that may never occur? I must be missing something…
