hmm…2 days ago i went changed something and didn’t realize it…It was in ADDONS > SEO > Categories SEF URL format and changed to parent_item_name/]item_name/[page2/]
it used to be set on [parent_item_name/]item_name[-page2].html
I didn’t know I changed something until google webmaster tools was telling me I had NOT FOUND errors. The not founds were in format of domain.com/category.html .
So then I realized that i changed the format to domain.com/category/
Not sure if this was conincidence but seems like the amount of pages being indexed is going UP so I’m happy.

It’s just that I’ve always thought the links had to be like this : [parent_item_name/]item_name[-page2].html
That’s how I have them right now. I realized that after upgrade a “-es” element was added to my links, yet I do not have language box marked. I only use when language which is Spanish.
Purelife, please, can you PM me with your site url? I’d like to check how it looks like after the changes you made.

Click on ‘Edit’ under the SEO addon.
Check ‘Use single URL for all languages:’
Uncheck ‘Show Language in URL’
oh, i wish it were that easy, i have looked there a million times, that option is unchecked and it has always been unchecked as far as I recall.
Aditionally, Spanish is the only available language, English is disable and there are no other languages installed.
Any ideas? I have links with -es and links without -es, very very weird

it might be related to your issue. If you have two category names that are exactly the same, and you are using SEO category names, CSC will append your language code to the end of one of the names to make it unique. It doesn’t matter if the category names are subcategories in different main categories.
We had the same issue and had to rename categories with the same name so that a “-en” or “en-2-3-4” wasn’t appended to the category name.
that makes a lot sense and it is probably the reason for what’s happening in my store. I have half the store with -es and the other half without it. Yet, I can not change manually categories or subcategories because they are from a CSV catalag that updates every day, so what I change today will be unchanged tomorrow

It was selected at one point, select 20 products, then click on ‘mass edit’ or ‘edit selected’.
Select SEO Name, change the seo values as required.

Well you don’t need to change the category name, you can just change the SEO name under the AddOns tab when you edit a category in the Admin area.
I can not edit seo manually , it’ll be an endless task. there are nearly 30 000 items in my site that change every day, well, not the 30 000, but say, 300 get out of stock and 500 new are added. The update script works at night thru a cronjob, and it adds automatically the seo name (product.html) ,seo keywords,etc
So, do you understand now why editing all that is an endless job?
Another thing, how is best to display categories and subcategories?

3-item_name/[page2/]
I am sorry, I thought you were talking about category names, but from your last post, I think you are talking about the “-es” being attached to a product SEO name.
I have the SEO addon set to:
[parent_item_name/]item_name[-page2].html
and I do not have duplicate names on my site, all names are unique. Are you importing the same product into multiple different categories? Having duplicate products on your site is not a good thing, Google will flag those as duplicates and not index them.
It would be much easier if you posted some links to your site that we could look at to see where the problem is rather than just guessing at it.

Thanks for sharing the change you did, it seems to be giving you results. I have changed categories too to parent_item_name/]item_name/[page2/] Though my problem goes beyond that.

I did not cut the domain name at the end, it shows like like that, why?
Error message is in Spanish but you can understand it for sure.
The error is different every time. Clear your cache and run the sitemap again and don’t mess with your browser until it’s done.

I’ve looked in to problem.
mirnitagl should tell everyone that her cart is not standard. Her statics seo links are regenerated frequently by a script that takes product descriptions from external source.
mirnitagl has custom seo modification done by a person who cannot be reached any longer. All tips provided above are useless. I believe that “-es” is coded in to func.php of seo addon.
Also not all products have -es but random…
Darius, I think you should read a bit this thread so that you know what I have said or not. Actually I have said several times that I run a script which updates the store everyday, please, read above.
