The add-on sends GA4 e-commerce and user events from a CS-Cart storefront, so that the funnel in Google Analytics reflects what actually happens in the store rather than page views alone.
Two ways to connect
- Google tag (gtag.js) — the default. You enter the data stream identifier (
G-…) and events start arriving in GA4; nothing else to set up. - Google Tag Manager — the add-on pushes events into the
dataLayerand you configure the tags inside the container yourself. Worth choosing when the site already uses GTM for other tags, or when a marketer owns the container.
If the tracking code is already on the site by other means — through the theme or another add-on — there is a switch for that: the add-on stops inserting the code and only sends events, so nothing gets counted twice.
What is tracked
Catalog: product view, product list view, and product blocks separately. Cart: add and remove, cart view, add to wishlist. Checkout: begin checkout, shipping method, payment method, purchase. Users: sign-up and login.
Every event has its own checkbox, so you can send only what you actually use in reports.
Recent additions
- Product blocks are now tracked as a separate list event, sent when the block is really shown to the visitor rather than on page load (1.5.1).
- Debug mode: with it on, every event sent to Google Analytics is mirrored into the browser console — useful while setting up tags and verifying the funnel (1.6.0).
The manual with a walkthrough of every setting is in the documentation.
