I can’t figure out why when a user logs in, they are taken to the Contact Us page of the website no matter what page they were on before they clicked Login to go to the Login page. Is there somewhere where I can set what page the user should go to upon successful login?

Try clearing the cookies for the site in your browser… Then, make sure you logout as the user. Those two steps should insure you are starting with a relatively clean slate.
I figured it out - my own fault :] I had set up a link for the menu to login, and my link included a return_url parameter (of the contact page). OOPS - thanks for your time! When I removed the return_url part of the link, it now goes to the home page upon login (if I wanted to, I could include a different return_url parameter in my link to go to another page).
