I would like my website to have a margin down each side, or to put it another way, not to fill the entire screen. Possibly loose the right hand menus and centre the rest. There is now a design trend to do this, with brighter and less complicated front ends. Is this posible and how difficult on a scale of 1 - 10.
Thank you
Jean

Absolutely possible beyond a shadow of a doubt!
Scale of Difficulty = 2.875

I guess I should have asked how to do it as well.
Also how do I find out what cart version I’m using. I don’t have the original download on this machine and I can’t find any reference front or back end.

Why did I know that would be the next question??
To determine your cart version just add ?version to the end of your store url and it will display it for you.
For the rest of the story: [url]CS-Cart Documentation — CS-Cart 4.15.x documentation
Unless you are using an older version, then: [url]CS-Cart Documentation — CS-Cart 4.15.x documentation
I found all the info. Many thanks.
What version does it turn out that are you running?
If you are using one of the later 2.xx versions, you can simply remove “Blocks” from the right side of your layout to unclutter things. Then you can change to a “fixed width” page style vs. 100% expandable page width.
The other very cool thing about the “Blocks” concept in CS-Cart 2.0.xx is that you could choose to not display any blocks on the right side of your home page to achieve the uncluttered look you mention, but then on the product pages for example, you could display advertising or informational blocks on the right. Point being the new blocks feature gives you an aweful lot of granular control over your entire site layout!
