does anyone know how i can show the carts shipping cost on the cart page without this calculation link and functionality? the cart uses a flat rate per item so should be easily be able to show a rate based on the cart contents.
We had cs-cart do this mod for us on the checkout page which was fine, but forgot to ask for the cart page and dont really want to have to pay them twice for the same thing.

Bump. I would really like to know if this is possible in version 4. Remove the Calculate-button, and have the shipping automatically displayed on the cart-page.
The issue is that unless the user is logged in, you do not know any “destination” info provide to shipping calculator (even if it's the same rate for everywhere).
What about if we have only one destination - it's only one country, no states, no zip codes. And we have one flat shipping cost regardless of quantity of products - there is no need for any calculation. How wee can show the shipping cost on the cart page without this calculation link. It was possible to do in 2.2.5 but wee don't know how to do it in the newest version.
If you have your "default destination" setup to be in the region where your shipping method has rates setup, then the flat rate should apply since the calculation will apply to all destinations within that region. It's still done the same (in this case) as it was back in V2.2.x
You would still have to either have them click the shipping estimation button/link on the cart page or have an addon developed that did this automatically and just displayed the result.

Or add a block to every product what the shipping is "flat rate shipping no hidden costs ONLY £££"
