Everyday i have same 50 or more user carts with same item

For the last week everyday ill have at least 50 user carts from an unregistered customer placing a $10

Gift Certificate in their cart. First i thought it was a confused customer entering item into cart multile times but everyday throughout the day i seem to have at least 50 unregistered customers with the same one item in their cart. This has been going on for a week and have over 700 abadoned carts with the one same item. My list of abadoned carts just keeps growing every day. Dont think its a customer just entering these orders multiple times a day as think it may be some type of loop glitch but

dont no how to end it.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Hello mrmem,

Thank you for your message.

There is a chance that it is done by some bot. The possible point is to create as many abandoned carts in your store as possible so that your MySQL database experiences high loads. Unfortunately, there are some other complains concerning the same issue, so I assume that they are not regular customers who want to purchase a gift certificate.

In the current CS-Cart version, you can see the IP address of the person who creates such abandoned carts. It is visible on the Customers > Abandoned/Live Carts page in your CS-Cart admin panel. You can block this IP address with using the standard Access restriction CS-Cart add-on (more instructions on how to use this add-on you can find in our Knowledge base article) or directly on your server.

I hope this information will help you.

Thank you.

Are all of the abandoned carts using the same IP Address, which you can find in Customers > Abandoned/Live Carts? If so, you can block access to your site from this IP.

Unfortuently im still on 2.0.12 and dont have that feature.

Anyway can get this from cpanel.

Thank you for pointig me in the right direction. Since im on an older version i did not have the luxury of seeing the IP . I was able to

log into Cpanel and go under “latest visitors” and was able to track down the two IPs that were doing all this. I googled the IP addresses and found many having poblems with these IPs. I then processed to block them and havent had a problem since.

I would recommend that others block these two IP ranges.
