I charge shipping on the website. On eBay, I do not want to charge shipping, as you automatically get 5 star detailed rating for free shipping, as well as better selling fee’s etc. Therefore, when I list the item on eBay, I will have to raise the price of the item to cover the costs of shipping. Would be a good feature to have.
However I'm far from convinced about the benefits of free postage on eBay. I've returned to selling there after a long break and I've done lots of testing with nearly identical listings with free postage and without.
In each case the overall amount that the buyer pays is identical yet the listings that charge for postage outsell the free ones 10 to 1.
I'm convinced it's because the majority of people use the eBay app rather than the website and on the app you don't see postage unless you explicitly click on it. Lots of people in the eBay business forums reporting the same findings with free postage.
