Ease of using Smarty/completely skinning a new design?

Hey all,

I LOVE the features of CS-Cart, but I am worried that if I buy this, it will be a headache to “skin” a custom design which we will be making for our client (ie. PSD file).

Will I have any issues finding people to skin this for me? I was planning to just head over to either eLance or Rent-a-coder to find someone to skin, but I heard that the Smarty template system may make things a bit more difficult. Also, can anyone give me an approximate price range for skinning a completely new design?

Thanks!

Dan

Hi Dan

you can ask CS-Cart for quote https://www.cs-cart.com/design-services.html

From my experience, the amount of job strongly depends on the “small” design elements (popups, buttons, single product page etc). If the shop will use default CS-Cart “small” elements, then integration is more easy.

We do CS-Cart based shops with completely new design (with buttons, custom single product page, custom lists) and with some modules and core customizations for 3000-4000$

Example of project in this price range http://decoretto.ru/ (design was provided by client, this shop use mostly standard buttons, but it was some hacks to core and some re-do of layout during development)

That price range for a completely new CS Cart design is about what we would also charge. For example www.sportsmanswarehouse.co.za or http://livingstones.limabean.co.za.

It’s not easy to completely modify the look and feel of CS Cart. We also tend to have to modify the functionality quite a bit, so that adds to the cost as well.
