e-mail notifications when customer is assigned a group


I am assigning groups to existing customers. When I do this an automatic notice is sent to the customer to make them aware that they are being added to the group.

In the short term, can some one please tell me what file I need to modify for this notification. I want to add additional details about the group they are being added to, such as, they need to log in first in order for them to see group discount for the specific products.

In the long term, I would like to know what to modify so that a different notification would go out depending on the group being assigned.
