I’ve had a good look about and finally gave in…
I currently have Nevada Sales Tax on my site for people buying from Nevada. By default it will show the sales tax ‘on top’ of the price when viewing the cart (within the product listings sales tax isn’t shown).
So for a $100 product, it shows as $100 everywhere in the product listings… but the moment you add to your cart, it shows up as $107.
It takes for you to sign in/register your location as something other than Nevada to get rid of the sales tax.
Is there a way of having the tax only display if you first register as being in a specific state?
Thanks
T
In Settings->General, leave the default location information empty (set State to “Select state”), no taxes (or shipping) will be computed without customer input.

I had the same problem for a little while. I feel really silly now. haha
You can also go to appearance settings and uncheck the box that says “Estimate taxes using default address on cart/checkout pages” which took care of my problem without deleting the default address.
Wow, that was easy. lol
Thanks guys, wish all problems could be overcome that easy! So many things to think about your brain almost explodes when trying to launch one of these things and the more obvious things suddenly become overly complicated!

I had completely missed this setting. Nice to see that they have made this easier than the old workaround.
