Displaying Cs-Cart Html Fields For Various Objects

All over CS-Cart there are fields for various objects(?) such as categories, products and promotions, which have HTML formatting toolbars. The fields generally have names like description and short description. I am wondering how these might be displayed on relevant web pages. It makes sense to fill them out properly and completely if they can be used, and it would certainly be better to keep this descriptive information in the organized framework of CS-Cart rather than enter it “freeform” on a web page. I'm guessing it helps with SEO as well?
