I’m looking for a way to always display the ‘Add to Cart’ button on the product details page even though there are required product options. Is there a way for CS Cart to have the first option automatically selected? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, it is possible. In order to do it, you should select the “Simultaneous” option type in the “Options type” drop-down select box on the necessary product details page in the administration panel of your store. After that the first variant of a necessary product option will be selected automatically on the necessary product details page in the storefront.
