digital downloads different file types

Hi all

New here.Does cs cart have an option for different downloadable file types? meaning the customer would choose type A OR type B and check out with only one file type of their choosing for download? I think there is but I am not positive. This all I sell is downloadable product so this is a biggie before I buy cs cart…hope it does it seems the best out of xcart and cubecart. Also, if it can give the customer a choice is there a way to charge more for a particular file type meaning $10 for file type A? and $15 for file type B?

Thanks for your help

Why not have 2 “files” associated with the product and then a radio group for the options allowing the customer to select the download they want.

I don’t think there’s an automatic way to configure it, but if you used “manually enabled downloads” then you could simply active the file related to the customer’s choice.

Not as of the version I’m using - 2.0.12. I doubt it has changed, but it’s possible.

You’d have to set up two separate products, or offer both files to the customer.

For me, I usually upload both versions for them so they can pick the one they want after they order.

I have a few products that have a standard version and an interactive version that costs $5 more, for instance. I had to make them two separate products.

I thought I had it figured out when I set up an option that cost $5 more. However, I then had no way to tie a different file to that option.

I’m not sure if this feature has been requested. I don’t run into the problem very often so I haven’t messed with it. Before you write off cs-cart, check with them to see what it would cost to have a custom addon.

I think this way is the best. But if you do not want to give your clients download both types of file - it is possible to enable the “Activation mode:” for these files with “Manually” value. And then you could choose which of files will activated.

But if you want that everything will be automatically - we can offer you our development service for the modification of this functional.
