Oh yes, this is a very popular mod.

I am not a web developer, but I found it pretty straight forward to stumble my way through the templates. Now I view them as moderately easy to change (and I have no previous experience with web development).

As far as guides go, there are several that you get access to when you buy your software:

  1. A main users guide (which I find moderately helpful, but mostly for the initial setting up part of the basic installation)
  2. A design guide, which is pretty lite, but gives a very good brief intro into how to start changing things. You do not need to have smarty template experience to start changing things. Knowledge of CSS and HTML will be enough to change the look and feel quite significantly.
  3. A guide for setting up shipping and taxes,
  4. and there is a few other guides that I haven’t used yet

What I have found most important is that on this forum there are lots of great people willing to help you out. Of course it makes it easier for everyone if you are willing to do some thorough searches of your own, through the posts that others have already supplied answers to many questions in the past.

I am becoming more and more of a fan of this cart software and this community as time goes on.

As far as giving access to the available manuals - I have no idea why cs-cart doesn’t allow prospective buyers to look them. I think cs-cart should give access to these manuals so people can really get their hands dirty in the templates, and to get comfortable with their decision to buy.

There are lots of customized mods that are available, either free or for a nominal charge. Also there are some really cool templates that are really polished, and available for download.
