CSV Import... Date added field going nuts!

EDIT

It's OK I fixed it…

Contrary to what I thought - you have to upload your data in the format MM/DD/YY even if CSCart is set up as DD/MM/YY and exports data that way!

Simple really… am I a dumb ass or what??

Hi -

I'm really scratching my head about this one.

I've been doing CSV data importing and exporting for a few years - done it hundreds of times and it always works.

However - I've spent hours messing with a single data field and I can't get it to work!

All I want to do is update the 'Date added' field (with the date products were first released) so I have that as the default sorting order for products.

I am uploading just the 'Product code' and 'Date added' fields… the date added data appears in the format '09/08/11 01:00' (which is the format it was in when I exported the existing data)…

So I am uploading new dates which range from 2005 to the current date - in the order the products were released.

But… when I check the data by downloading the data - it's all screwed! Loads of entries sho 01/01/70 01:00 then the rest show other dates from the 1970s with just a handful of the 2000 products showing the correct date… these correct ones were products that I manually entered the data for in the admin panel.

The time and date format (day/month/year etc) I'm using is as I have CScart set up… and it reports no errors when importing the data and yet it's gone crazy!

Any ideas very welcome

thanks

Never mind. Apparently we cannot delete our posts like the previous forum.

When in doubt, always export a product that has already been set up.

…that’s exactly what I did - and the exported format was DD/MM/YY while the import will only work with MM/DD/YY!

:rolleyes::huh::rolleyes:

I cannot comment further as I use MM/DD/YYYY but I am also still on 2.1.4. I am sure that there is only one format that the database will accept so maybe there is supposed to be code to format it as such.?
