Cs-Cart As A Progressive Web App

Any one in cs-cart thinking about how to bring cs-cart to mobile apart from the existing responsive themes. The whole world is moving to mobile and cs-cart is missing this big opportunity and could be a major deal breaker for people to go ahead with cs-cart.

Its an opportunity which can be easily monetised if companies like simtechdev , ecomlabs, etc start working it now.

I agree with this . over half the sales ( obvious country dependent ) are mobile sales and growing .

cs-cart mobile app is on its way.. It will be included in this license

I personally think an app is not that important for online stores. Are people really going to install apps for all the online stores they use? And get annoyed with push notifications? I had 1 app from a store on my phone and deleted it for this reason. Also, their mobile website is just as good.

As always marketing and web development companies will say you are missing out, but I think a real mobile app is not needed for small businesses.

Then again, cs-cart already offers a mobile app with Twigmo: https://www.cs-cart.com/twigmo.html- including push notifications.

Here is an interesting article, from cs-cart: https://www.simtechdev.com/blog/mobile-browsers-vs-mobile-apps/

I think same, would not use app for website, responsive is enough for me. However admin backend app with some basic helpdesk functions would be great..

We have been thinking of this thing a year ago. Sure that there were not only our company but also the others. First, twigmo is already used by cs-cart clients. Second, small companies have resources only to code add-ons and modifications for the existing system Cs-Cast and to run one or two new projects. As you know any new project takes lots of time and money and ordinary (not big) companies can not lead three or more new directions simultaneously. We have faced such thing during the developing of the Product Designer Software. Third, where there's demand, there's supply. The fact is that there is no enormous demand on such thing at the moment. So wait for the cs-cart release for mobiles or contact the third-party developers.

I hope cs-cart doesn’t waste one second on developing an app. Customers are not going to download an app to make a purchase from my store. Big waste of time and resources. Instead cs-cart should be developing a wide range and variety of responsive themes that work on all platforms and fixing the option functionality in the cart. Let’s all say NO to an app.

I am sure there are other issues that need solving but if you plan to run a multi vendor store with a wide scope and you have many repeat customers for your vendors , i think the app is required for sure . its convenient for my customers' clients.

Interesting project but a waste of time and energy and would never generate a profit. Just try to keep up with the mobile OS changes…

Agree with Flow. If your goal is to minimize data displayed on the mobile devices, you can use our solution - Additional block settings module. With just few clicks you can enable/ disable blocks for mobile, tablet and desktop devices.

I agree with tbirnseth, waste of time, is more important a fast, attractive, useful surface insted of a mobile application...

Not sure that do you mean. But start from checking the following docs:
