I want to create a coupon code offereing x % discount to each new user registeration. How to configure that.

I would think in Cart promotion



Conditions:

All Conditions True

add one condition for ‘Users’… ‘Not In’ and add all current users.

add another condition for Once per user ‘Yes’



Under the bonuses:

Add a bonus of ‘by percent of original price’ to 10%





That should allow only new customers to get the 10% discount once. It should automatically be applied. I usually test it first during off-peak hours to make sure everything works as designed.
