Contact Us Link

My Contact Us link was working fine until I changed to SSL when we were ready to accept credit cards on the new site. Now, I am getting complaints (and I just confirmed myself) from customers that when they try to send an email using Contact Us it returns an Error 404. It worked before changing the SSL so I am pretty sure it is the cart. Is there something I need to change?

i will try to explain this as best i can…

when you are not in the secure mode…the contact us worked fine for me

if your in secure mode the link looks like this in view source

Contact Us

which is correct

however, your root domain is now https://siteground190.com

and the a href does not reside on that root domain…

I am not familiar with 3rd party ssl, but maybe you can change your config.php to the designated https_secure_host

Maybe check out this thread:

Mike…I’m going to sound like an idiot, but I cannot figure out how to get to the config.php. CS-Cart files are not set up like my old cart (one issue) and Siteground’s CPanel is also taking me a little while to find my way around.

It is in the root directory of your store…since I use “old school” ws_ftp as my server client, I don’t know for sure how to explain to you how to get to it.

its where your main index resides on your server

It looks like the links is working correctly now. Your site seems to be pretty slow. I just pm you some security issues with your site!!! Please fix it now!!!

This issue occurred with my store in 1.3.4 sp 3

wasn’t able to fix it, I deleted the contact us form and link

re made the form and it worked

Hey PM thats great and tell him but dont tell the world why.

You were right. I’d had a problem with the login and had to run a script to reset and then forgot to go back. Thank you!

Since I changed to the shared Siteground SSL, it really slowed down. I tried the config.php changes that were covered in the thread Problem with SSL - Please help (even Zardos’s) but, they did not work and I had to change them back. I tested the contact us link late yesterday and it still was popping the Error 404 - File Not Found. The messages do come through but, from the customers perspective it does not look like it does at all. What a mess! Would a private SSL fix any of this?

Good suggestion. That is what I am going to do next.

In most cases an ssl certificate issued to your own site is always better. They are pretty cheap. (70-200 bucks a year) Have your host generate the CSR for your server, submit it to the ssl provider and your certificate is generated by the ssl supplier. copy it and have your host install it. Some hosts will even go get it for you and install it (for a fee of course)

Rapid SSL is painless with a phone authorization. Takes about an hour all together.

One hour to try…

hi,

I use rapidssl on my site with cs cart and it works perfectly. Never had any problems with it and oly costs £20 a year so brilliant value. Not sure if this will apply to you or not but when i ordered mine via my host i also had to pay for a static ip as well. That was oly a few pounds though.
