Category split

I want to split my categories up into types and then have a seperate cateory menu for each type.

I thought if I made a group block and then added a category block for each type this would do the job. But I can’t seem to be able to get these the way I way.

I want to create a category menu and add the categories divided into the types. I can do that but the style of each is a simple text link. As each type of category also has subcatgories it means all I get is long listing of clickable links.

All I want to do is build these in sections so my main type headers doesn’t have to be a category like so;

Categories

Programmes <----- not clickable

1 <-----clickable

1 <-------revealed on click

1<-------revealed on click

2

2 <-----clickable

3

1<-------revealed on click

Tickets <-------Not clickable

1

1

2

3

As an example the top section on entry would look like this;

Categories

Programmes <----- not clickable

1

2

3

But the only way I can get it to work it would look like this’

Categories

Programmes <----- not clickable

1

1

1

2

2

3

3

You can image how much room 6 section would take up.

you can styles those simple links, adding a bottom border with color or an image background. Use firebug to locate those styles and try:
.sidebox-categories-wrapper .sidebox-body ul a {

display: block;

font-weight: bold;

padding: 1px 5px 6px 3px;

border-bottom: 1px solid #323232"

}

.sidebox-categories-wrapper .sidebox-body ul a {

background: url(“images/subcategory-bottom.gif”) no-repeat scroll center bottom transparent;

display: block;

font-weight: bold;

padding: 1px 5px 6px 3px;

}
I’m using this for a customer, still WIP: bigmidas(dot)com
