Category dependent targeted ads

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone knows how I might get started to implement targeted, category-dependent ads on my site… We have several different, somewhat unrelated product lines in our store and would like to be able to define one of the root categories in which an ad should rotate. Has anyone done this and/or have any suggestions where to get started?

If you know a bit about php code you could probably do this yourself, otherwise I’d say you had 2 options;


  1. Pay the CS staff to code a mod for you along these lines - I’ll give a shining report for their service, second to none.



    or


  2. Look into using seperate ad-serving software. I’m sure you should be able to get something that will deliver ads depending on keywords used on the page etc - similar to how googles adsense works.
