Categories as subdomains

Hello everybody,



First of all, i’m glad to meet you and this shopping-cart system to which i’m very new and noob also



Second, of course, i have a problem and i really need a solution for it: i need to display my categories as subdomains and not as subfolders in the main domain.



Let me give you an example:

  • right now i have a category like this: mycart.tld/crt-monitors/
  • i want to have: crt-monitors.mycart.tld/



    I need to have this organizing structure for all the categories present in the system (no matter if it is a level zero category or a subcategory) so a hard-coded solution is not viable.



    On the server-side i have everything i need to run virtual sub-domains (Wildcard DNS and all the rest)



    Can you help me, please?

You would have to do it in your htaccess file with Rewrites.



If you’re wanting this for SEO purposes then that will not be a good solution for you.



Can you speak more to why you want categories to be sub-domains?
