Is there a limit to the number of categories allowed in version 4.2? When I get to a certain number, the entries stat freezing up, and I have to delete the categories before the entries will work again. Tried to minimize the number of root categories, but did not help.

There are no limits. Please try to contact CS-Cart support team. It is required to examine the issue directly on your server.
