Cart-Power: Cookie Consent — a banner that actually controls your trackers
A CS-Cart store sets cookies before the visitor has decided anything: the analytics counter starts on the very first page, the advertising pixel goes with it, and an embedded pickup-point map or a product video brings in third-party cookies of its own. The built-in banner announces cookies but controls nothing — a refusal changes nothing at all. “Ask first, collect afterwards” is what both GDPR and the Russian data law require, and this add-on closes the gap between what the banner says and what the browser does.
Four categories, two modes. Required, comfort, analytics, advertising: the required ones cannot be switched off, the rest are the visitor’s choice. In the soft mode everything keeps working until the visitor refuses, so almost no statistics are lost; in the strict mode nothing but the required scripts runs before consent, the way the EU expects it.
Analytics obeys the choice. Google Analytics and Google Ads run through Google’s official Consent Mode v2: on refusal the tag receives a “do not collect” signal instead of simply disappearing. Yandex.Metrica comes back under the rule you set. Any counter or pixel you pasted by hand can be moved into the add-on and starts following the same rule.
Maps and videos stay unloaded until allowed. Google Maps, Yandex Maps, 2GIS, YouTube, Rutube, VK Video, Dzen: a placeholder takes their place, and one click enables that embed only.
You can see what visitors decide. The consent log exports to CSV — date, visitor fingerprint, decision, allowed categories, policy revision. The statistics page shows the refusal share, which is exactly how much your Analytics numbers understate reality. On refusal the add-on removes the cookies that had been written before the decision.
The look follows your theme: position, light and dark scheme, your own colours. Texts in English and Russian, compatible with CS-Cart and Multi-Vendor 4.17–4.21.
