Can't access website, 404 error

I just upgraded to 2.0.6 from 2.0.2 and now can’t access my website. I get this:



404 Not Found

The server can not find the requested page:

localhost/index.php (port 80)

Please forward this error screen to localhost’s WebMaster.



I checked my httpd.conf and hosts files.

Are you running cart on localhost?

Darius, when I go to http://localhost the webpage comes up fine but when trying to access through proxy website (outside internet access) I get the 404 error. I am also running another website which works fine through the internet. I changed the httpd-vhosts.conf file as needed.
