I had 9 months of problems with 1and 1 and would not recommend them, I had poor support with exactly the same problems you are having and still didnt get any sensible answers so done a fast exit. Lost a few hundred quid in the process but I just wanted out.
Trust me , get out now.

I understand what you say as I have been on the phone with them for the past three days trying to solve my issue and when they dont know what to do they will tell you: we need to investigate this case further and we will email you back with updates. You should see the two “updates” emails I received from their support tech…one of them was about how to insert the geotrust seal on my website…should I say more?

Are you a foolish glutten for punishment? After reading the above posts, do you still believe you have a compelling reason to attempt to run your business with a bubblegum level hosting company such as mentioned? Think man (or girl)!
