Let’s say a customer receives a gift certificate together with a free product (which was added to the gift certificate). Now, he comes to the shopping cart, redeems the gift certificate, and addes the product (which comes with the gift certificate) to the shopping cart.
The cart shows $0 because he doesn’t need to pay anything. This is fine.
But, can he checkout? In my tests, the cart doesn’t allow me to checkout. It keep on saying “Your cart is empty, so you cannot proceed to checkout.”.
Why? Please advise.

It sounds like it appears to be added to cart, but upon navigation to the cart page, it’s emptied.

No, I think it is not emptied because I can see the cart content. There is a free product in there. Quantity: 1 X $0.00 = $0.00
Free because it has already been paid by the person who gave me the gift certificate.
Any idea?

It looks like a bug. We are investigating the problem. We will contact you as soon as possible.
