Can Someone Explain How the Product Option File Upload works?

I have a global option on my site where users can upload a file when they add items to their cart. Right now, I have no idea where this goes. I assumed there would be a link of some kind in the order page, but there isn’t?



So my Questions are:


  1. Where does the file go when uploaded?
  2. Is there a way to attach it in the order page?

the file appears in the admin side of the customers order when you view it. Not sure where they are stored on server though.
