Seems like cs cart is stuck in the old smarty 3.2.21, cs-cart 4.14.2 should roll out with the latest smarty 4.0 and php 8 support, there's a lot of competing platforms out there, but this update will beat them hands down.

Smarty 4 does not yet exist.
Also, this won't work as PHP 5.6 is still supported. And a lot of people still use php 5.6; So this is quite literally a no-go on many many levels. On top of that, the RC has only shown that Smarty 4 will deprecate php 5.6 and not bring any new features.
Smarty 4 is already in the market since last week, i personally tested it, and I'd say it's 4 times faster than 3.2.21, and support for smarty 4 starts from php 7.1 and above.
