Currently, if you use the “buy together” option, you are unable to change the options for any item except the primary item from the cart page (checkout.cart).
More fundamentally, the “buy together” option is just not very functional. For instance, create a “Climacool bundle” with a 10% discount from the following demo data:
Adidas Mens ClimaCool Jacquard Argyle Polo $54.95<br />
Adidas Mens ClimaCool Mesh Polos $49.95<br />
Adidas Mens ClimaCool Short Sleeve Mock $54.95
In the storefront, the primary item is displayed with the full bundle cost. This means that the $54.95 Jacquard Argyle Polo now shows a price of $143.85. This is confusing. "Buy together" needs to be implemented as a proper bundle where the item added to the cart is the bundle (e.g. "Climacool bundle $143.95) which then contains and displays the associated items at their discounted prices. <br />
You also need to be able to adjust the options for the bundled items from the cart page.<br />

Another advantage of creating ‘bundle’ products is that a single product could be included in more than one bundle (e.g, good, better, best). In the storefront, you could dynamically show all the bundles that a product is included in on the “Buy together” tab - allowing the customer a choice.
This thread has gotten quite a few views so there is probably some interest. Often, people don’t comment if all they have to say is “I agree”.
Of course, the current “Buy together” implementation is so unwieldy that people may have just passed over any attempt to use it. Hopefully, some of those can jump in with their suggestions as well as voting for a better system in the Ideas forum:
I wholeheartedly agree with the comments made here. Also if there are features then the features should “work”. Having the option to 'bundle" should basically produce a new product (BOM) that contains the individual products and is then passed on to a “temporary” product (naming is neither here nor there as long is it presents a logical name/list to the customer.
Whilst on the subject this is also great from the apparel industry perspective.
Additionally I would see it a great advantage if there were checkboxes against each item in a wishlist whereby the customer could individually select items (even better would be the option to have a switch that selects all of the items in the wishlist) and “Send to Cart/Basket”.
Currently it needs the user to click-on the “Add to Cart” button for each of the items in their wishlist.

A customer comes to cs-cart ad says “I need xyz”. Cs-cart quotes them an amount to do the work for them. They do the work to meet the specific needs of that customer.
It adds a feature to the cart that new buyers (who are doing their checklists) can now check-off “bundled products” in their buying decision.

Looking at this you are right. If all you want to do is keep the customers you have already “captured” then do not consider adding more in the way of features OR making the features that have been included work for the majority of customers.
However… it is clear, in this diatribe, that some of these customers have seen a feature they would like to use - that does not come up to expectations. Chances are you could lose some of them - I have seen people drop applications because a feature is either not working or difficult to work with.
Wishlists and bundling are all part of the commercial world these days - otherwise why would Magento and Amazon and most others have and use these features?
If you want to just keep the customers you have - then stick with what you are willing to offer; that is functional and useable.
If you want to expand the customer base you have - then you need to make any features that you bring out, at least match what is available out there, with the functionality that people can use.
Rule of thumb: Look after the majority of the customers you have, they are the ones who recommend and sell.
