I accidentally deleted the “customer” folder in the “redish” folder in my skin folder on my domain site. how do i restore this back? or get this information back for cs cart?
Also when i deleted this file out, it took some of my blocks off of my web page
can someone maybe just copy that file for me and send it to me maybe=( anything will help
Do you have a backup, just restore it from the backup if you do.
JOhn
i honestly dont know lol
member i was hired about 3 weeks ago to rebuild this site so im asking my boss and he said he might so i really hope he does.
The “blocks” are also saved in files inside that folder.
What this a stock “redish” skin? Or had you made changes?
You should ask your host if they have a recent backup.
well what i did was i added a folder called customer into that customer folder, instead of going into that customer folder and deleting that folder. i accidentally deleted the main folder customer.
the host does, but they want to charge me to do it.
can someone maybe send me the default copy of the customer folder in the redish skin?
cause i dont think my boss has a backup (which we will be making now)

Do you have the CS-Cart installation package (.zip or .tgz)? Which version do you use?
You already have a copy here.
/www/var/skins_repository/redish/customer
navigate to that folder on your store. and u can copy it back over.

This isn’t a copy of a working skin. This is an installation directory which has to be installed through CS-Cart admin page.

That is pretty sad since you are using cPanel. Restoring an account only takes them a couple mouse clicks.
You might be able to try this if they have only hidden the backup download links in your control panel. This has worked for me at other hosts but I haven’t tried with Hostmonster (It looks like they only do weekly backups according to their KB)
Log into your cPanel account and manually enter the link to the server backups like below.
https://hostdomain.com:2083/getsysbackup/daily.tar.gz
https://hostdomain.com:2083/getsysbackup/weekly.tar.gz
https://hostdomain.com:2083/getsysbackup/monthly.tar.gz
That is if they are using SSL… If not you can try like this
http://hostdomain.com:2082/getsysbackup/daily.tar.gz
http://hostdomain.com:2082/getsysbackup/weekly.tar.gz
http://hostdomain.com:2082/getsysbackup/monthly.tar.gz
If that doesn’t work it might be worth paying them because it’ll save a ton of work
So then switch your customer template to basic, then back to Redish.
it should reinstall everything thru the admin panel.
Only if this is a stock skin though.
backup is the preferred method if you have one.
Indy0077- Im using version 2.0.10 and ill have to ask my boss if he still has the zip file, but as far as he explained to me is that everything is on hostmonster.com
TonyK- I tried to do what you said but it didnt work.
and again this code poped up
Warning: Smarty error: unable to read resource: “exception.tpl” in /home1/harpermo/public_html/lib/templater/Smarty.class.php on line 1095
S-Combs- i will try that right now

If you own a valid CS-Cart license, then contact CS-Cart through the help desk site and ask for a copy of the 2.0.10 version.
I will do that right now indy0077, thanks for the help, and ill let you know if that works
CS-cart installs skins like:
copy var/skins_repository/base/customer skins/
copy var/skins_repository/
This takes the base skin (basic actually) and then copies the skin-specific files.
Blocks “should” be okay unless you’ve created custom blocks in the old skin.
honestly? i have no idea what you are talking about…=(
the fact is i already deleted the file and it deleted almost all my blocks on the site.
what i did was just copy a file called customer into a folder called customer. I deleted the folder instead of the file and it ruined the whole layout, i just need to find out how to get that folder back
Okay, I thought it was pretty clear. Copy the files (source → destination) as listed above and your skin will be restored.
If you prefer, you can go into the template editor (Design/Template editor) and select the customer directory for your skin and then click “Reload from repository” (or whaever it’s called).
