Hi,
I just installed CS-Cart with a default template.
I modified the file
/var/www/html/skins/basic/customer/index.tpl
(replacing with just as a test)
I uploaded the new file back to my server.
However, the change didn't reflect on the server at all.
I have verified the file is modified on the server (logging in as admin, going to Design/Template Editor and verifying the file above was modified)
Am I missing something? How is cs-cart still serving the unmodified original template?

You need to clear cache . Goto admin.php?cc
you need to clear the template cache. go to yourcscart/admin.php?cc
