Banner Linked Pages - Creating A Sale Or Special Page

I have a slider on my home page and am currently displaying around 6 slides. I want each banner that features a product or set of products to link to a page displaying the relevant products. The banners are for sales or special deals and in some cases will be announcements. In the latter case there may not be products listed but perhaps different graphics and text content. How do I go about creating pages with the necessary content and add products where necessary? Should I create a dedicated category for each banner and assign the needed products to this special category? Could I simply manually add products to the page? Would greatly appreciate if someone could get me started building simple pages. I'm more a Photoshop than an html guy.

Thanks for any insights.

We can offer you the following way:

  1. You create new CMS page with the deal description
  2. You add a new block with products (Filling type: Manually) and enable it for the new page only
  3. You link the banner to the new CMS page

When creating a new page the products block will need be added to the layout. When this edit is done will the layout be globally changed or will the edited layout only apply to the page that was created?

The global status of the new block should be Disabled. Enable it for the requried page only on the Status tab on the block details popup

Thanks for response. Any blocks added to a layout in the layout tab of a page and enabled for that page only, as described above, will not be enabled for for any other page. Will the newly added blocks still be visible as inactivated on other pages using the same layout?

You are not able to create new blocks on the layout tab. You can just correct their content and status
