In my previous shopping cart, one could choose to only authorize payment from a person’s credit card and then capture it later, after analyzing the transaction details and making sure nothing fraudulent was taking place. The CVV and AVS responses would show up in the admin area and if those were good I would capture funds right away, if not, I would investigate further.
CS-Cart, on the other hand, authorizes and captures the funds at the time of the sale, best I can tell (correct me if I’m wrong–at least that’s how it’s working for me with PayPal Pro).
So my feature request would be to allow an “authorize only” setting with the option to capture later, and also with the option to capture a different dollar amount than was authorized (in case, for example, of unavailable inventory).
