Is anyone using the Australia Post realtime shipping calculator and having problems with it at the moment?
Hi Lyn,
Did you ever get a response to this?
My question is also, Does the Australia Post processor work in 2.1.0 which I am testing currently?
And for interest does it actually work with any of the versions of CS Cart?
Anyone on the forum or users in Australia could confirm this would be great.
The problem I posted about turned out to be an Australia Post problem rather than a CS-Cart problem and it was fixed within a day.
Not sure about 2.1.0 but Australia Post works fine for me with 1.3.5 and also for a friend who is using 2.0.12.
Thanks Lyn,
Got it going after referring to the KB. Seems to be working with 2.1.0 but still doing more test.
Once I entered the dimension in the shipping setting for australia post it kicked in.
The bit that I don’t understand is why I need to enter a dimension setting in ‘shipping setting’ as referred to in the KB notes. Is it the minimum size of a box or any value would make the realtime module work, but what do those dimension referred to?
+++++
A side question and I haven’t looked thoroughly at the forum or KB, but how do I get GST to be shown as a separate line item after the subtotal on my checkout page and also the emails and invoice?
Is there some code I can add to fix this. I guess on my Tax Invoice I will also need to get the ABN to show up.

The Australia Post realtime calculation needs a measurement. I have just put in 5cm x 5cm x 5cm in CS-Cart. The Australia Post calculation in CS-Cart only works on weight and not the cubic weight (i.e. if your parcel doesn’t weigh much but is fairly large). I am not sure if this is going to be fixed in any future versions of CS-Cart. It doesn’t concern me as we are on contract with Aus Post and only pay according to weight anyway, but this could be an issue if you are selling large items that don’t weigh much.
Any measurement at all will make the realtime calculation work. However, if you have an item that measures 10cm x 5cm x 2cm and weighs 500g, and you put the measurements of 100cm x 20cm x 10cm into CS-Cart for your measurements, the Australia Post realtime calculation will come back with a calculation on the cubic weight rather than the actual weight. This is the reason I have just chosen 5cm x 5cm x 5cm as it won’t affect the cubic weight of the parcel. I hope this makes sense - it is a bit difficult to explain.

The settings are under Shipping/Taxes and then Taxes, where you put your ABN under the Reg. Number. The ABN and the GST amount should then appear on your invoice on the next line after the subtotal.
I have changed my invoice to also include the ABN and other details in the header of the invoice but I did this in one of the templates (so long ago I can’t remember which one).
And don’t forget to change your invoice to be called a Tax Invoice - this is in your languages under “invoice_title”.
