ASP site to CS Cart PHP

I have an old site that was set up and is hosted since 9 years ago by a developer I know www.eliteindustrial.co.uk but since then this past year or 2 we have gotten our own CS sites performing far far better than this one and keeping this updated is becoming a nightmare as we only have a basic backend cms and not full control. I want to change it over to CS and am about to speak to the developer who is also the host this week and start to get it moved to our server but change over to CS. The main question I have is would there be any major hurdles I should watch out for like the seo etc although if you check you will see it is not very seo friendly URLS.

I guess the advice I am asking is would it be better to just start it from scratch and forget the trying to save any links/info or should I lookout for specific elements to save.

Sorry its a little vague but I am unsure myself at this stage.

Thanks

john

John, all depends on the rankings and traffic you get. If you can afford to throw it away and value your time, it would be much more straight forward to start over from an export of products, customer, orders, etc. You can always make 301 redirects for the top 10-20 pages that you get traffic on. Just 2-cents.

Thanks Tony, I was leaning this way and to be honest dont think the traffic for the site is worth anything more than I can get from a CS site within a short period. Ill get the database info from him and see if I can use any of the meta data.

thanks
