Anti-Fraud add-on, MaxMind.com? Feedback?

Has anyone used this Anti-fraud add-on?

Cs-Cart takes me to a site called maxmind.com.

Its suppose to help identify IP addressed using proxies and VPN servers. Also helps with fraud credit cards.

$5 a month for them to look at $1000 orders.

Has anyone used this service?

How is it working for you?

Did you ever try this? If so, were you happy with it? I might try it soon.

Hi there,

We've used it for a number of clients, all and all very good.

maxmind operates as described, by cross references the customers information at checkout and providing a score based on the likelihood of fraudulent activity.

You can use the score to know which orders require additional verification and also set the system to auto decline an order with a given score.

The service has definitely prevented fraudulent orders from being shipped.

score from 1 - 100

Andrew: *field

→on cs cart it only allows scoring of 1 - 10

→will that still work ??

Andrew: one moment please

Andrew: CS Cart is actually using an outdated version of MinFraud, which only provides our old “score” field. The newer “riskscore” field ranges from 1-100

→ok so you dont think it will be compatible?

it will work, but it is an older version

Is this going to be updated anytime soon ???

BTW this plugin doesnt not keep card info NOR do a pre-auth…

anyway to change these ?

Hello,

I've activated the Anti fraud add-on, subscribed to the service, and entered our Maxmind license key and other settings. Where is the score information supposed to display? I don't see any change on the order page in the admin. The CS-Cart knowledge base has an article on how to set up the service but no information on how it integrates with Cs-Cart. Any help/direction is appreciated. Thanks.

Andrew

I did end up using this and its been doing alright.

It does catch some fraud orders but be aware that it wont catch them all.

I have it set to show a fraud order with anything over a score of 4 and also if the user is more than 200 miles apart from the billing and shipping address. Can never be to safe about frauds but it has helped.

Mainly when we process orders we check 4 things. The billing and shipping address, the phone number, the IP address an what kind bike they are ordering parts for.

If any flag pops up like the IP not matching where the parts were ordered, We stop and call the customer.
