Thanks Zeke, I do believe this will be a popular “option” in the long run for CS-Cart store owners. We handled secure mode like this for approx. 3 years with the last store we operated prior to switching to CS-Cart, and although we were hesitant at first, found it to be an excellent option over time.
I don’t want to speak for the public here, so hopefully some others will try this out (per the code tweak Adodric kindly contributed) & give their thoughts as well!

As a follow-up, I have been running our site live for 3 days now with this code mod, no problems whatsoever!
There are other shopping carts on the market which handles https exactly the same way, (not as if this has never been done). This method should be a very viable option to many for handling https mode.
