The notifications are called by cron job, you can set whatever timing you want, more details sent you thru email.

We had to disabled this addon today .. it's an AMAZING addon, but it sends update and ads notifications to our Sellers dashboard in our Marketplace website .. which is not good this and disturbing for our sellers.

Simple update the add-on to the latest version, where only the store admins are receiving the update and news notifications.
If you want to disable it completely contact us thru our site and we will remove it from your version (but not recommended).
However there are other new features in the latest version, see below:

Are these "update and ads" did you create them or they are being sent by the addon?
Does the customer have to be logged on to get the reminders?

Yes, email address is required to know where to send the reminder emails.
A word of warning to others considering this add-on, after having made the mistake of purchasing this ourselves. This add-on is encoded so that if you need to tweak it or audit it before deploying to your production site, it isn't possible. There is NO mention of this fact anywhere on the developers' site or product description page and this is not something you can discover until making the purchase. The majority of CS-Cart add-ons we've used are NOT encoded / encrypted (just like CS-Cart itself), so its a reasonable assumption to make that add-ons aren't encoded/encrypted unless otherwise indicated.
The developer is extremely unfriendly to communicate with, refused a refund (despite the fact that we never installed the add-on and he controls license activation), and upon disputing at PayPal, he revoked license and did not provide a refund. The cost of this add-on is relatively trivial, but you should be aware of the deceptive practices. It appears that there are other more reputable vendors that offer a similar add-on that we will pursue. We have dealt with MANY CS-Cart developers over the years and have had good experiences in general, but this is one we recommend avoiding.

BUT, yes, you are right, the script is encoded and one cannot edit the email body, etc., that's why we never installed it, we purchased another non-encrypted mod and quite frankly we liked the other one best for its simplicity. We too should have asked and never requested a refund.
We have not been able to purchase a few mods from SimTech either, as their mods are also encrypted, it's a shame because they had some of interest.
We are working with the developer on implementing this product Abandonded Cart. We have had a rough time implementing this only because we are not system people and really do not understand all the ins and outs of CRON jobs. The developer has been holding our hands and working with us. We finely can see the output of the product, but still, need to master the CRON scheduling.
Yesterday after a very frustrating day working with this product and other events within our store I knee-jerked and condemned the product and support which I'm truly sorry for I guess I was just venting frustration but at the wrong person.
