Это очень плохо, клиента отпугивает постоянный запрос города.

Понимаю. Внесем в следующую версию это.

Еще одна бяка ,связанная с неопределением города. Если ОТКАЗАТЬСЯ от указания города, то справа появляется и висит предупреждение (update_geo_select_error), которое можно убрать крестиком, но оно ОПЯТЬ появляется при перелистывании. Само не убирается через время, закрывает быстрые ссылки в шапке.

Это как можно исправить?

В итоге имеем что в случае если город не определен автоматом, то работа модуля откровенно некорректная, так как мешает продавать.

Константин, отправил вам письмо со списком переменных. Дополнительно, все языковые переменные хранятся в [CS-Cart root dir]/var/langs/ru/addons/sd_geoip_maxmind.po файле.

Здравствуйте

В нетерпеливом ожиданее обещанной новой версии, нашел еще один косяк.

Переменная select_your_city используется в заголовке окна ПОДТВЕРЖДЕНИЯ автоопределения города и одновременно в заголовке окна ВВОДА ГОРОДА в случае смены.

В итоге фраза, забиая там "Начните вводить Ваш город" смотрится глупо в первом случае и уместно во втором. Если писать что-то конкретное, то в оба варианта не попасть.

По-хорошему нужны две переменные, так как окна имеют разный смысл.

Еще есть одно серьезное подозрение...

Включено "Показывать автоматические всплывающие окна". Обнаруживаю, что в Гугле-вебмастере предпрсмотр страницы закрыт всплывающим окном. Поскольку робот не будет нажимать кнопки, не получится ли так, что в итоге сайт вылетит из индекса, так как все страницы будут без внутренних ссылок?

Совпадение или нет, но в Яндексе после установки модуля я наблюдаю существенное понижение позиций на ВЧ-запросам.

Я не уверен, что все так, но, если все так, то все плохо и хотелось бы:

- чтобы окно подтверждения города не блокировало содержимое страницы или

- чтобы окно не показывалось юзер-агентам роботов поисковых систем.

Наверное, первое не обязательно, а второе - точно сняло бы все вопросы.

По второму замечанию, возможно, если модальное окно будет показываться не сразу, а с задержкой (возможность задать значение через настройки модуля)...

В общем надо понять что с этим делать и как это повлияет на индексирование. Пока я у себя отключил появление окна с подтверждением выбора - ради чего в общем-то и покупал модуль :-)

We have an update on the IP Geolocation by MaxMind add-on!

There are two new settings:

If the "Set customer's language" setting is enabled, the add-on will automatically choose the language of the customer's country (if this language is installed in your store).

If the "Set customer's country" setting is enabled, the appropriate currency will be set according to the country. On the currency editing page you can specify countries for which this currency will be automatically applied.

Do you know that IP Geolocation by MaxMind and Shipping Estimate add-ons are fully compatible? I recommend you to use them together. Your customers will know the accurate shipping costs on the basis of location determined by MaxMind.

Now your customers can change the location directly from the shipping cost table:

We corrected the issue in the add-on. The order barcode was not displayed when the Set customer's language and Set customer's currency settings were enabled. Now it is fixed!

Loaded Maxmind with Geolite. I'm based in Oviedo, north off Spain. When I enter Oviedo (or Madrid) it tells me:

This location could not be selected due to technical reasons. If you encounter any difficulties when placing an order, please contact us.

Is this due to something at my end or Maxmind's?

Try checking how your IP is determined by Maxmind. You can do it in the add-on's settings in the IP for test search field:test-ip.png

Also, you can check your IP address on the Maxmind demo site.

If your IP is determined correctly by Maxmind, please, contact us via our Helpdesk System for examination of the issue.

2. The Close button has been added to the modal window with a choice of geolocation.

Look what awesome updates and useful improvements of the add-on we have:

A deviation in the add-on behavior occurred when a third-party theme was installed. We studied the issue and improved the add-on to remove any misbehavior. As a result, now there is no duplication of the header in the modal windows when a third-party theme is installed. The button in the Select City box does not display if it is empty. When the Unitheme2 is installed, a dialogue window comes up to confirm the customer location.
