Does your add-on modify or alter the core files in any way?

I don't understand, you say a person needs this addon if

  • you are updating CS-Cart to a new version

why would one need this to update to new version? Does it have anything to do in that it modifies CS-Cart's core files?

The add-on uses hooks and standard functions of CS-Cart, it does not change core files.
It is useful to close the store during the updating process, so your clients can contact you.
The standard page "store is closed" is not informative in our opinion and confusing. And via the add-on, you can make it more pleasant and readable, send people to the social network or to the support center. To inform them when the shop will work again, to remain in dialogue with your clients.
